She wanted this day to be a reminder of the consequences that would lie ahead for her in 2023, for disobedience.

Hailey admitted to me that 2022 was a difficult year. This has a lot to do with herself and her actions, more than anything else. With the start of this new year ( a birthday) and needing to find a new place, she looked forward (with my help) to getting to her next level of independence. On the last day of 'The Year of the Dragon' I felt it was important to realize this and act accordingly. Namely asking her what Tigers are known for. 'She mentioned 'claws' and I pointed out they were also known for their stripes. She knew then what that meant! Another interesting thing happened. I had only days before found a cane with a broken handle. It was the cane I used on Samantha Woodley for the first time, breaking it on her. I repaired the cane and this was the one I began this film with. The next day would start 'The Year of the Rabbit' so I pointed out to her that it could be a gentler year if she embraced it. That was also why I used my hand between implements throughout the spankings. The implements represented the tiger and my hand the rabbit.

She gets (aside from the first cane) my paddle strap, multi-pronged cane, and a stiff razor strap, along with hard hand spankings throughout.
